Located along Boulevard de Picpus, the project is conceived as a refined architectural response to the Parisian urban fabric and to the unique presence of the nearby Coulée Verte René Dumont. In a dense metropolitan context, these planted urban voids play a fundamental role in shaping spatial quality. The project, therefore, seeks not only to respect these landscapes but to reinforce their presence through a carefully composed architectural form.
The building presents itself as a contemporary stone volume that naturally extends the continuity of the Parisian streetscape. Its architectural expression is rooted in the reinterpretation of the traditional faubourien façade grid, translated into a modern composition defined by clarity, proportion, and rhythm.
The elegance of the façade derives from a precise modular system, where a regular sequence of deep-set openings creates a calm and balanced architectural rhythm. This disciplined grid gives the building a strong identity while maintaining a refined simplicity characteristic of Parisian architecture. The depth of the window frames introduces shadow and relief, giving the façade a sculptural quality that evolves with the changing light of the city.
A classical tripartite composition organises the elevation: an animated ground floor activating the public realm, a central body defined by the repetition of generous residential openings and loggias, and a subtly stepped crown forming landscaped terraces. These upper setbacks soften the silhouette of the building while offering residents open views toward the surrounding greenery.
Materiality plays a key role in the architectural expression. The façade is clad in light natural stone, ensuring durability and timelessness while anchoring the building within the Parisian architectural tradition. Dark timber window frames and simple metal railings introduce a delicate contrast, reinforcing the elegance and precision of the composition.
Beyond its visual refinement, the project is structured around a rational and efficient constructive logic. The clear modular grid allows for a straightforward construction process while maintaining a high level of architectural quality. This balance between design ambition and buildability ensures the project’s durability and long-term value.
Through its balanced proportions, careful materiality, and calm architectural rhythm, the project establishes a contemporary yet timeless presence within the Boulevard de Picpus. The architecture engages in a subtle dialogue with the surrounding urban landscape, creating a building that is both discreet and distinctive within the Parisian cityscape.
